Are you a Big Break fan? I sure am. As much as I detest most reality TV, this show got me hooked. I watch it every week when it's being aired and even enjoy the reruns. Sometimes I get annoyed at the "drama" that The Golf Channel creates between the players. I'd rather skip all the post round "confessional" stuff, but I know it sells TV and so I suffer through that to see great players compete for LPGA, PGA and Champion Tour exemptions. We forget how important it is to these players - they are competing for their careers!
Anyway Big Break Ka'anapali is only a few weeks away and I'm going to be following that series very closely. Expect to see a posting from me after every episode with my typical rants and raves :)
So the show will be great, of that I have no doubt. But what I am really thrilled about is that Christina Lecuyer, one of the Big Break Ka'anapali Ladies, will be helping me bring "behind the ropes" commentary to you.
This picture is taken from the March article in Golf For Women Magazine - a must read before you watch the show.
Christina (far left) is one talented and competitive golfer even though she grew up in Edmonton Alberta, one of the snowiest cities in Canada (brrrr). Her story is quite amazing...
She never really picked up a golf club until she graduated from high school at 18. She's now 25 years old, so you do the math -- in under 7 years, she made it to the finals of the LPGA Tour Qualifying tournament and became a "not to be forgotten" contestant on Big Break Ka'anapali. Wow!
I won't spill all the beans about Christina now. But you're in for a real treat next week. I'll give you the inside scoop on Christina through a two part interview I had with her. And when the show airs, we'll hear more from her on the "episodes" on and off the camera. I hope you'll join us each week.
This is going to be so much fun!
